Instinct (010)

Place your happiness into a box.
Sort out the small from the tall,
the red from the blue.
Do you see a spectrum?
A line going straight up?
Something more like a mountain range?
A massive hill to push up a rock?
Where does the sunshine come from?
Is it only a code embedded in DNA that makes birds sing?
Where do mitzvahs come from?
Is it your heart or your head that wins?
Your will, can it conjure, or are you destined?

Put your sadness in a box.
Sort out the small from the tall,
the red from the blue.
Do you see a spectrum?
A line going straight up?
Something more like a mountain range?
A massive hill to push up a rock?
Where does the cloud form?
Is it only code embedded in DNA that makes tears fall?
Where does tragedy come from?
Is it your heart or your head that wins?
Your will, can it conjure, or are you destined?

Place your peacefulness into a box.
Where are the small and the tall?
Is there red, is there blue,
a spectrum?
A line going straight up?
Something more like a mountain range?
A massive hill to push up a rock?
Where does birth come from?
Is it empty of a separate self?
Where does death come from?
Is your heart in your head, and your head in your heart?
Free-will, conjured or destined?
