Sometimes, we make ourselves miserable on purpose. For no real reason, other than that we’re bored.
There’s probably some kitschy pop-psychology analysis about stuff like this floating out there, somewhere.
LOL! Yes, that kitchy pop-psychology is called “the wisdom of the ages”, and it’s boiled down to — everybody suffers.
We are terribly great at making ourselves miserable for no good reason!
I’ve been in similar spots. I just let the writing drop away for however long it needed a break. This daily poem thing could be a good distraction. Or, if you don’t want to do a daily, try the weekly thing. It’s given me a whole new understanding of my abilities, and shortcomings.
