It’s more complicated — and much work went into obscuring the issues. As simply as possible: Most voting choices come down to economic issues. The Dem voting base had long consisted of the masses — poor and middle class, for the common good. The Clinton administration split this base wide apart, and the past 8 years confirmed that this split is permanent. Hillary Clinton played a lead role in formulated the agenda that ended basic poverty relief. Bill Clinton signed on to NAFTA, and Hillary Clinton worked hard to get the TPP through Congress, pushing more people into hopeless poverty. Add to that Clinton’s long record of support for military aggression. And no, Russia still had nothing to do with it.
