Mr. Agaba Nyombi from Uganda knows all about holding on to hope during bad times. He travelled to India with his parents and brother for undergoing stem cell transplantation for spinal injury. His brother Mr. Bernard shares about his experience below:

Two years ago, my brother Agaba was left paralyzed from the neck down after a car accident. We were warned that the damage might be permanent. At that point, his life was pretty bleak. He couldn’t drink or feed himself. He couldn’t text or pretty much do anything, it was like basically he existed and wasn’t living his life. For him and our family, hope only came in the form of Dheeraj Bojwani Consultants, a leading medical value provider in India assisting the international patients seeking stem cell transplantation for spinal injury in India from the best doctors.

We went through the information given on their website about the stem cell transplantation and send them our query. Within a couple of days, we received a call from one of their executives asking us to fill up the patient information and send his medical reports so that it could be studied by their panel of doctors who will then send us their medical opinions. After following their process, within a week we received few medical opinions from the doctors and were asked to provide them with confirmation for stem cell transplantation for spinal injury in India. The executive helped us throughout the entire process and also arranged a telephonic conversation with the doctor. The doctor was kind and listened to our problems and explained us what to expect during the stem cell transplantation for spinal injury in India. After talking to the doctor, we were quite relieved and hence gave them our confirmation for the treatment in India.

Stem cell transplantation for spinal injury in India

An official greeted us at the international airport in India and escorted us to our accommodation. By evening we were escorted to the hospital wherein we met the doctor who was kind and cleared all our queries and worries about the entire process. According to the doctor, the stem cell therapy involves human embryonic stem cells which have been differentiated or converted, into cells called oligodendrocyte progenitors. These cells are capable to become the kind of cells that help protecting the nerve cells in the central nervous system while the area damaged in the spinal cord injury.

The procedure went well and within two weeks he began showing signs of improvement and was regaining movement and strength in his hands and arms. Now he have a grip strength and do things like opening a bottle of soda and feed himself whereas before he was relying on us. So after the stem cell transplantation he is now been able to live his life. As per the doctor who performed stem cell transplantation the improvements of the kind Agaba has experienced can make a huge impact in someone’s life.

We are more than happy to be able to make such a difference in the lives of Agaba. He has now a changed man who is starting life in the face instead of hanging his head in defeat. The physical improvements are more than what we ever imagined while the emotional and mental healing outweighs these benefits.

I would take this opportunity thanking the doctor, nurses and Dheeraj Bojwani Group for their complete assistance throughout this journey. The facilities have been great; they were clean, professional and organized.

Thanking You,

Mr. Bernard Nyombi,

Uganda
