Guardians of the Galaxy has a non-wow story, but got good ratings because of the humour and good-feelingness — even through the thin plot.

Suicide Squad didn’t have that. There was so much potential for Suicide Squad, that I feel like the director and writer needed an additional year or two to really come up with a good story.

Stopping Enchantress from creating a machine to destroy everything is not a good plotline.

We need mystery, surprise, delight and humour, not shallow emotional weight.
