My personal opinion on this matter is that femininity and masculinity have much to offer, and boys/men or girls/women should not be restricted to choosing one over the other.

Both men and women have restrictions on the kinds of interests they can follow and activities they can undertake.

Women have more pressure because men currently dominate some spheres of life. Men also have more pressure because men police other men. Women police men. Women police women and men police women.

It’s a self-sustaining inter-generational problem. Unlearning is as hard as relearning as far as removing toxic elements from feminine and masculine (for lack of a better word to describe these behaviours) behaviours is concerned.

Did I just “mansplain”? I hope not; I’m looking for the right way to think about these issues.
