Many people I’ve met often worry too much about how they look. They’re not wrong in that one should have a generally presentable appearance, and should not have that “totally hippy” look.
But when how you look comes before what you do, then you could say there’s a problem. Beauty fades with age, everybody knows that. No matter how hard one might try, it’s just not possible to look beautiful all the time.
And there’s a problem with using the word “beautiful” too. I like people whose personality is “beautiful”, and I would always feel such people to be “beautiful” even in the conventional sense.
Beauty with no brain is something I really detest, and you should too.
After you’re dead, who’s going to look at your bones and say, “That person’s so beautiful.” I don’t think people remember the actors in plays at the time of Newton.
Yet, why is Newton universally remembered? Because of what he did.
We humans are selfish that way. We always want to be remembered. We always want to live on in others’ minds and in what they do. And that’s perfectly okay. Doing something good for the world is an infinitely better way to be remembered than to look good.
If you do something really good, you’ll always look good doing it.
Doing something good requires one to learn how to do things. That’s why studying is so important. Sports and extra-curriculurs are important too, because they teach us how to do things as well.
Learning from one’s own mistakes and listening to other’ points ov view are good ways to start doing something good.
