Thanks for describing a problem existing in many parts of our country, not just Palo Alto. But aren’t you really just complaining about change that prevents you from living in a very nice place? Aren’t local, regional, and state politicians democratically elected to represent the people? Isn’t this a free market economy? So what is the real problem — what part of these systems do you want to bypass?
