Why I’m grateful that I’m depressed
Meghadeepa Maity

Thank you for sharing.

I think feeling happy is overrated and oversold. It’s just an a state of mind that’ll show up for no reason at all and might leave equally abruptly.

After my long duel with depression, and a gazillion how to be more happy articles, I realised that chasing happiness is futile.

Now I show up to life and do what I need to do, regardless of whether or not ‘happiness' decides to join me.

Also depression has forced me to experience the while gamut of complex emotions that I wasn’t even aware of before. This has enabled me to understand a lot of artists and their work better.
