The President of the United States grew to reality-star fame by deriding contestants on their shortcomings before telling them that they were fired. Can you imagine him sitting in front of the mirror at home, in his LITERAL gold palace in the sky, looking intently into the mirror while repetitiously reciting, “You’re fired”.

No, Donald. You can do it better than that.

“You’re FIRED!” No, no. Now you’re trying too hard.

“You’re FIRED.” Yes, that. Forceful, but not screaming. Strong. Yes.

I guarantee it took him longer to choose how to say, “you’re fired” than the time he spent receiving security and intelligence briefings before sending our special operations troops to die in Yemen.

The President of the United States made a name for himself by repeadetly and publicly doubting the birthplace of our last president (our LAST president?). DJD led the birther movement. This gaggle of inbred, uneducated, white nationalists just needed a patriarch. Thank you, Mr. Drumpf. Was it that Obama was black? Was it his name? Was it simply that his father was Kenyan? If his father was a white Britain, would the same furor have resulted?

I think not. And what are the odds that his parents would have preferentially shipped Mrs. Obama to England to deliver young Barack as opposed to Kenya. With as deplorable as the infant mortality rate is in the United States (but don’t worry, Drumpf is going to fix healthcare — I’ll get to that) I have a hard time believing that she travels to Kenya to give birth. Sorry, I’m not buying that horseshit for even half a second.

Now, the pop-culture leader of the birthers is in the White House.

But I’m spreading hate by calling a spade. Give me a break.

Now, the Republican agenda includes building a $20B wall between the United States and a peaceful neighbor, to prevent illegal immigrants from stealing our jobs and healthcare. We’re building a $20B wall to prevent rapists, murderers and drugs from coming into the United States across the southern border.

If the illegal immigrants are stealing jobs from you, then perhaps you need to try harder, or get more school. Perhaps, if the illegal immigrant is stealing a job from you, we’d rather have them in our workforce than you? If an illegal immigrant is stealing a job from you, perhaps we should be talking about your lack of useful skills, useful knowledge, useful education.

Perhaps it is you who should be picking strawberries on a Sunday morning in the hills near Santa Maria, CA?

But let’s talk about legal and documented immigrants for a moment, shall we? There is an organization out there trying to limit the number of immigrants who come to this country, period. They say that we take the doctors, the lawyers, the engineers and the scientists, leaving countries behind them that they should have stayed to fix. The Federation for American Immigration Reform, FAIR, what a non-sequitur. This group advocates for keeping all kinds of people where they are and saving the United States for the nation of immigrants already living in it. Roy Beck and John Tanton are two of the primary drivers behind this movement. I’d encourage you to Google them for yourself. FAIR and NumbersUSA are two of their primary pet projects. In their defense, Tanton and Beck just hate immigrants. All of them. Their fear is the foreign and strange, without obvious disdain for color, race or creed.

The Grand Old Party wants to build a $20B wall between the United States and a peaceful neighbor, and they are going to make Mexico pay for it by placing tariffs on imports from Mexico that will be paid by… Consumers within the USA? What? If you first think the border wall sounds like a good idea, then it would follow that you also lack the mental wherewithal to understand that YOU are paying for the wall via tariffs that will play out as taxes and increased costs on goods that YOU purchase.

Drumpf invents fear and boogie men. Then he sells you solutions. He lacks the experience, knowledge or academic acumen to create solutions to real problems. He’s a sideshow, carnival-barker, screaming from his tent and selling snake oil solutions to problems you didn’t know you had until he created them for you.

However, we’re going to solve the problem of this relative improvement by placing a creationist at the helm of the Department of Education, with no experience creating educational policy, no education herself beyond a BA from a private christian university, and a mandate to shutter the department of education in favor of states’ rights and the good denizens of Mississippi and Alabama clutching their bibles in darkened huts while praying for a robust growing season and a cure for grandma’s diabetes.

The United States is lagging well behind other developed nations in the kinds of things that lead to world dominance in scientific and technological advancement, but our goal has become to make it even worse in favor of… I cannot call it religious freedom, because Christianity is not under attack. Christianity has created false threats in an effort to impinge on the rights and freedoms of other religions, as well as those who desire freedom from religion. The United States is preferentially choosing to regress, preferentially saying, “all of these advancements are a bad thing, I’m going to use my smart phone and internet to tell the world.”

If you doubt the motivations of the religious right, check out the Watchtower Society. They don’t even hide the fact that stupid people are easier to control and indoctrinate. NPR did an interesting story about the practice of first homeschooling, and then discouraging post-secondary education amongst Jehova’s Witnesses, http://www.npr.org/2017/02/19/510585965/poor-education-leads-to-lost-dreams-and-low-income-for-many-jehovahs-witnesses. In the video, they actually say that education can lead you away from God and that you are better off skipping college and learning a trade, or studying divinity, so you remain ignorant of the world around you, but rapt in the glories of the faith.

While our friends at the Watchtower Society are an extreme example — (though I did love the fun audio visuals and lights and bells and whistles employed by the gentleman in the video, put together, no doubt by experts in biblical theology, and not anyone who has studied these things) isn’t this a subtly of all religions? The more narrowly you are kept within the fold and sheltered from the realities of the outside world, the more likely you are to remain amongst the flock.

Now, we’d like to write that large across the sky, with a ruling plutocracy, bent on undermining the availability of education and placing themselves at the top, where they will remain, given the ignorance of those below. As a nation, we’ve CHOSEN this.

The nation is preparing to charge tariffs on the working class to construct a southern border wall, even as we prepare to make healthcare and education more difficult to obtain. We’re preparing to re-engage Russia in a Cold War. We’re preparing to shred nuclear treaty in favor of nuclear buildup. I’ve had megatons at my fingertips. The idea that we are going to build up again terrifies me.

Immensely.

The Grand Old Party has been harping and chirping about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, for 8 years now. They hate it. The word “Obamacare” has been so ingrained into the FoxNews crowd, that they don’t even know what the ACA is, or that Obamacare and the ACA are actually the exact same thing. Obamacare has been sold as such a horrible, terrible, bad thing that the limited-cerebrum crowd don’t understand that healthcare is not only going to bankrupt the United States (if the military doesn’t do it first), but it is of an inferior quality internationally using objective measures of health, such as life expectancy, infant and maternal mortality rates, rates of chronic disease, provision of preventative care… The list could go on.

Yet, our healthcare system is the most expensive, per capital, on earth. By a far cry. As is out military, but war is something at which we’re actually quite adept. We love war. But we hate healthcare and education. As a nation, we loathe the perception of a giveaway. We detest the idea of a anyone getting something for free which we had to work for. This is a false reality with respect to healthcare. We all pay, regardless. Whether you pay in the form of increased rates or taxes, everyone is going to receive some kind of care. But by divesting ourselves of the illusion that we aren’t, and providing primary, preventive care, we can decrease our costs while improving collective societal health.

Drumpf is on a tear with executive orders, that which was evil and reviled under Obama. Now, even with a favorable congress, Drumpf is penning EO after EO. We’ve banned refugees — who would be our biggest allies and supporters, but they who we rescued from their own hostile and destroyed countries? They seek safety and a better life, not to bomb us and bring war.

The vetting process is already years long. This “extreme vetting” thing is a buzzword that plays well to people who never stop to say, “what?” When we talk about extreme vetting, how about the President or his cabinet? We know nothing about our president’s ties to Russia, debts, debtors…

The POTUS and his cronies have been singing a song about fake news. Fake news, as it happens, is any news critical of the POTUS or his decisions. State-run media is in the works. The White House has begun removing media critical of the president from White House media gatherings.

This is completely terrifying.

When I say that Drumpf voters are inferior humans and that they killed democracy, I mean it. You chose the racist. You chose the misogynist. You chose the dictator. You chose the plutocrat.

Drain the swamp? Holy Christ, he’s installed the biggest gaggle of unqualified billionaire cronies ever assembled anywhere for anything. He’s created a cabinet of evil aristocrats. And you voted for this. You chose this.

The EPA — the organization tasked with ensuring my children have safe food, water and air will be chopped up. The Department of Education, the organization tasked with ensuring my children receive a decent education, whether we live in Montana or Alabama and the organization for whom my wife works, will be chopped apart with the goal also of installing Christian theology in the classroom. We’re seeking to start new wars, new military buildup. We’re seeking to leave the poor in the cold, stupid and dying.

Yes, I blame your votes for this. This isn’t the prom, and you didn’t flip a coin to choose between Becky and Stacey for queen. This is the greatest country on earth choosing to hate the poor, to lock our doors to the threatened and endangered. This is the greatest nation on earth choosing war and walls over education and healthcare.

No, I’m not going to support him because he’s the president. Where the hell was that “let’s get along” bullshit for the last 8 years? No, I’m not going to subsidize open racism and misogyny. No, I’m not going to support dissolution of the protections of clean food, water and air. No, I’m not going to subsidize the rich getting richer as the middle and lower classes are trampled. No, I’m not going to support your religious agenda over that of other religions, or my freedom from the fabrications of your imaginary friend.
