I am not a black girl

I am chocolate but with a little touch of cream just like my mother but she is a bit more milky.

My father is a dark chocolate but super duper sweet while my brother is a bitter chocolate especially whe he just wakes up.

My first sister is a mix of dark chocolate and moca milkshake. She is the kind of dark that puts her eyes in highlight.

The last little light of mine is just like me but more like white chocolate with a small touch of coffee.

I’ve never struggled with my skin tone. If I go on my street I can find millions of differents color-compositions.

Internet conncected me to the world and let me know that people could be labeled and put in a box.

If I go to Europe with my brother, they’ll call us black. But we are not the same black. We are special in our shades and shapes. We deserve to be recognized in our originality.

But how hard will it be to name the exact color of each one. So it would be better to find something that makes us see the beauty in every person. What if I called Nathaly a beauty instead of a «white girl» ? What if Fanta became a sunshine instead of the «black girl» ? We are not colors, we are not shapes, we are not labels.

We are exceptional !
