Excellent article, I have learnt so much. I love the idea of our bodies and canvasses and how we may use them to process our traumas and heal from them, in a way that expresses our strength.

I do not have any tattoos myself, but I have heard men talk about women with them a few times. They expressed repulsion at anything less than a small star or butterfly on a wrist and talked of the displeasure of 'undressing her to then see her thighs covered in ink'. I could not believe how much they made it all about them and did not even stop to consider what tattoos might mean to women. I hope that this will change.
