I have two observations that put this decision in context. One is the fact, which has gone unremarked except by Moon of Alabama (http://www.moonofalabama.org/2017/08/notes-on-the-junta-an-unnecessary-land-corridor-and-a-regular-russian-maneuver-.html), that the U.S. executive branch has been under the control of the CIA since the time it was formed in 1946. This is how the CIA, State Department and the Armed Forces have been able to impose hundreds of CIA-vetted leaders on scores of countries since WWII. For example, the Christian Democrat Parties in Europe and Latin America were formed by the CIA, and the framing of Julian Assange in Sweden was done by the CIA-controlled Social Democratic Party.

The true cause of the bipartisan Deep State campaign to destroy the Trump presidency is the fact that he was not vetted by the CIA. Bernie Sanders was, however, and Sanders would have made a deal with the CIA in the unlikely event that he had won the nomination. Although Sanders was probably not to the CIA’s liking, he was allowed to run for the purpose of keeping disaffected Americans from going third party, and because the CIA’s chosen candidate, Clinton, assured them that the Democratic Party would not allow him to become the nominee.

My second observation is that the Green Party did the exact same thing to its primary voters in 2004. At the Green Party convention, Medea Benjamin and other opportunists betrayed the majority of voters, who had voted for Peter Camejo (running for Ralph Nader), and instead appointed David Cobb as the candidate. Cobb ran a campaign that essentially said, “If you live in a swing state, vote for John Kerry.”

Both major parties have historically represented the Deep State, which acts for the interests of the transnational corporations. There needs to be a third party alternative, but opportunists in the Green Party destroyed its momentum at a critical time by endorsing a Democrat, and I have seen no sign of its recovery. Americans don’t have a viable party to represent our interests as human beings, as opposed to the interests of the transnationals. I won’t even say the elites, because destroying the planet is not in their long-term interests either.
