I totally disagree with the researchers who say that your body controls your mind! Sure, if you break your leg, you might be depressed for a few days about a life-interfering stroke of bad luck, but you’ll soon be in rehab and on the mend. Who left that skateboard there anyway? But it’s your mind that rules the roost.
When I was in nursing, I warned patients about laying trips on family members about dying in an attempt to get more attention. Too much of “you’ll be sorry when I’m gone”, “I wouldn’t had had a heart attack if you loved me more”, or “I won’t be around much longer” will backfire. Your subconscious will begin to pick up on your messages about dying and will soon start shutting down your life systems. I’ve seen it happen, so be careful what you say and think or it can become a self-fulling prophesy, just like positive thoughts and conversations can spur you on to reach your goals.
