Do you have a “Bucket List.” Mine included The Grand Canyon. We’ve been there 3 different times now.

I justified these 3 visits because we drive from Texas to California at least once a year. A side trip to the Grand Canyon only adds a day or two to the drive.

Our road trips are centered around visiting family and friends. Connecting with the people in our lives is more important than a list of places to see.

But I still look for interesting mini stops. Stops with

  • Interesting names
  • Movie locations
  • Record setting cities and counties

I call these stops “Drops in My Bucket List.”

Boring, Oregon — Population 2,000ish — An Interesting Name

We were visiting my family in the Portland, Oregon area this summer. One of my many cousins had just moved to Gresham.

Gresham is a suburban city just east of Portland. On our way to Gresham, we drove through Boring.
