The next time you find yourself faltering on your way to your goal. Second guessing your abilities. Or comparing yourself to others. Remember the joy of learning a flip on the trampoline. What could be more exciting? Why can’t you do it? And won’t you be so proud of yourself when you do?
If there is something we want to do. A goal we want. We should feel excited and proud about the journey. We should be confident in our ability to reach it, no matter how long it takes. Stop judging ourselves so harshly for not reaching our goal by some arbitrary time point. And we should stop worrying so much about what other people think or do. Because it has nothing to do with us or our journey.
But I want you to remember that those pauses are just temporary stops like little commas and your whole life is a complete storyline. You won’t be stuck in that phase forever, it feels like being stuck only because you don’t know what will happen next. Moreover, it’s unknowingness like this that transforms us from being chaperoned children into fully functioning adults. There is never an easy way out, well, there will probably never be a way out like someone I really adore once said, “life is just a series of continuous wandering” especially when we’re young, but bear in mind that the first step of your revival always begins with acknowledging your fear, no matter how embarrassing and painful it is to do, and from there you will find out not only what you desire but also what you need.
