A Solitary Ray

I remember those days, dark indeed were they,
Every new day seemed another deadly shark,
Which would rise eager to strike, out of the swirling black water.
My life,I was sure, was caught in a twister.

It seemed I was in a nightmare from which Iwould never wake.
For me,it looked ,the chances of coming of new hope was bleak.
By dark thoughts I was overwhelmed,
Afraid to face the world embaressed and shamed.

That was the time when day were darker than night,
I had completely lost my will to fight.
But then the unbelieveable happened,
A small crack, in my darkness, openes.
And in came a solitary ray of light,
The atmosphere around me,it immediately bright.

Deep inside me hope was rekindled,
For that was which had grievously dwindled.
With new hope, I charged at the darkness which surrounded me like a wall.
Behold! I saw it crumple and fall.

Out I leaped into a world that was filled with joy,
It was bright and seldom did I hear people cry.
And I realised, in the darkest moments all it takes to rekindle one’s lost hope to fight,
Is nothing but a solitary ray of light.
