Time Flies

Time flies through the clouds that gather in my mind.

Deep, foreboding, complex.

Formless and yet with such distinct texture,

In the same moment, seemingly amorphous and yet detailed as a finely tailored vesture.

.

This could be your story too, so listen carefully to this fable.

The cloud of my thoughts is dense, nigh impenetrable.

Through it shall nothing pass, grimy actions or ideas sublime.

And yet, like wind through a labyrinth, flies time.

.

This wasn’t the plan, in case you were wondering,

I am not a big fan, of meandering around blundering.

I was only looking for clarity, while accounting for variety.

Treading that thin line, between tangled thoughts and astute analysis.

.

My aim is lofty, the cause of this current crisis,

To reconcile contemplation with single minded devotion.

The former decides what to make of this life, while the latter…makes it.

A worthy purpose for this body, before time takes it.

.

I look for that sweet spot, where logic embraces emotion.

Look for balance, for that ultimate nuance,

Where dull pragmatism is fuelled by infinite motivation,

For all the dilly-dallying, a timely response.

.

Blocking my efforts, stands my wall of clouds,

For a million efforts, a multitude of shrouds.

Only time flies through, unstoppable and swift.

Amongst the many shades of my character, causing a great rift.

.

I need answers, and I need to find them fast.

For time flies, and against its allegorical lancers, how long can a mere mortal last?

Will I succeed in finding my holy grail? Only time will tell
