Market Survey: My top 3 product choices:

For my survey, I used SurveyMonkey and decided to post it on Facebook so that I got responses from all ages, not just college students. I posted pictures of these products along with a short description, asking respondents to go over these products before completing the survey and ended up with 23 responses. The survey and results are below.

  • 5 people were concerned with price
  • 6 people were concerned with the size
  • 8 people were concerned with how complicated it may be to install
  • 3 people had no need for it
  • 2 people were concerned with the potential quality of it

  • 7 people were concerned with the markers themselves (accidental removal, losing them, having no where to put them, etc.)

Color Coded Bands — Colored Coded Gas Container Bands

  • This product is used for a container of gas used for industrial, commercial, or home use. These are identification, color coded bands that you put around the container, one side is used to identify the type of gas & that it is filled, you can then flip it to the otherside to indicate that the container is empty.

Feasibility Concerns:

Mulit-Compartment Refrigerator Instert

  • The product not being able to fit all refigerators
  • The product taking up too much space/not having room for all items

White Board Shelves

  • Not having a big enough need for the product
  • Losing markers/remover

Color Coded Bands

  • No need for them
  • Bands breaking
  • Too much effort needed to put them onto every single item of yours
  • People could do it themselves

Pugh Chart:

Sketch Model & Feedback: Once I made my prototype, I had my roommates test it out. I explained to them that there would be metal clips that would attach to shelves in the fridge and that the markers would be none removable without the removing spray. Their feedback:

  • REALLY loved how creative you could be with this
  • Katie said that she would be more likely to use it for dividing food by categories
  • A concern was what if didn’t fit in all refrigerators, another was not being able to see the drawings/lines once theres multiple food items in there.
