I understood and I told you that Durant can work in the same function as Barnes, but can obviously do so much more. The same here goes for CP3 and Beverley. That’s my point. There will be sets where CP3 spots up and Harden works, but he brings much more to the table.
Of course I’m assuming that if he’s willing to go play with Harden, then he’s ok to play off-ball more oftenly than he’s used to — and probably reduce his average time on court.
To me, having two elite playmakers who have to be respected off-ball is a luxury few teams have, and this trade is a no-brainer. If it will work — and the endpoint here is a title — that’s another story.
The financial consequences and all the young talent going away is not good long term, but that’s what you do if you want to trade punches with the Warriors.
But I’m happy that Houston is embracing the challenge. Hopefully they can add more pieces.
