The Manu comparison is outright ridiculous. O’Connor is all-in on Kennard based mostly on intangibles. There’s a chance he becomes a real NBA starter, but he is the most probable bust in the lottery. Mitchell’s not a better player than Kennard right now, but his upside is gigantic and his defense right now is something that Kennard won’t ever sniff in his career. And the guy can shoot.

Manu, before going to the NBA, had already been an accomplished slasher and an amazing playmaker. Kennard will never be a slasher in the league, and is a very limited playmaker.
