I hesitated to take much stock in the EU Google trends- as well as the misleading poll showing what people thought of issues (feminism, multiculturalism, capitalism, etc.)- for a different reason: because of the smug implication that Leave voters were awful people voting against their own self-interest. Statistics can mean whatever you want them to mean.
