Today We Launch the Injustice Boycott in Standing Rock, San Francisco, and New York City
Shaun King

This is the most confusing call to protest I’ve seen. You invoke the Montgomery bus boycotts as inspiration, but that was a small, local action in one city that took over a year, succeeded, and ended up growing into a national movement. Here, you’re calling for a boycott of multiple institutions in multiple locations, and you’re not even that clear about what we should do in these boycotts. Additionally, this is a one month action. That’s not nearly enough time for people to notice.

Keep it simple, stupid. Focus on one simple thing and go from there. You want it all right now, and you’re not even clear about what you want. This is 21st-century-style abstract protesting at its best- or worst, depending on your point of view.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
