Calm

The storms encircle us as do the wheels that we turn like hamsters in a cage. The dominant culture will have you running until you run out of steam — only to collapse before giving thought to the trails you blazed, phased or those ahead.
Without a plan there can only be some form of managed chaos, which over extended periods certainly can shorten one’s life cycle. I know that I have let machismo and other ego driven energies hamper my health and now stay tuned into my desired outcomes on my journey pursuing wellness. From intake to discharge, I have found ALL aspects of observing this machine my body frames essential if I am to make the Chinese adage of living until I am 120 a reality within striking distance.
While riding the bench at American University waiting for my teammate, Kermit Washington, captured his 20 points/20 rebounds and awaiting my turn for a call to play I gained the name “Dynamo Hum!” This was due to my calm approach to waiting and my appreciation of my supportive role. Everready I was and remain to this day, as I have learned that enough “proper” calm can avert a storm.
