During class, we discussed the shifts in demographics. The shifts in demographics relate to the study of changes that occur in large groups of people over a period of time. For example, there is a higher percentage of Hispanics living in the United States now than there were before. The history of that matter was that Hispanics weren’t welcomed into the United States nor given any job opportunities. Moreover, during 1986, President Ronald Reagan signed an immigration reform into law that legalized the status of about three million people. This goes to show that passing comprehensive immigration legislation is possible and that many things tend to change over time.
