Why do iPhone changes Smartphones?

The Apple iPhone has always been a game changer in the smartphone industry, right from the beginning it always has been responsible for making the changes in phones we hold every day, right from a touch-sensitive brick to a no headphone jack notch! Apple’s iPhone always has been the path which every other smartphone manufacturer company takes a lesson from. But the question is why? Why do those multi-million, sometimes billion dollar companies always keep on ending up copying one thing or another form iPhone?
Notched innovator?
While iPhone X came with an ugly gigantic notch atop the screen, it was the most vocally criticised and crossed the $1000 mark but still, its prevailed to be the most sold phone in Q1 and Q2 of 2018! Its very less known but that edge to edge display was not the unique idea, it was very well implemented in the Essential phone before and that notch was mere a camera cut-out there. However, that huge notch was justified as hosting the whole host of sensors to add FaceID, and ditching the capacitive fingerprint sensor (TouchID) whole together! Apple wants you to move more by unlocking your device!
Glassy Classy?!
Well obviously the glass phones, -read fingerprint magnets-, are one hell of the sleek sexy devices and it does provide better signal transmissions, but glass is glass and glass breaks, but Apple upped one level with their, “Sapphire Crystal” glass at the front and back, and the back glass contains the motherboard and battery fixed on the glass, which once broken costs more than $500 to replace, which could easily get you a brand new OnePlus 6! Okay okay I get it Apple added so many sweet tricks, they folded the OLED screen at the chin so there will be minimum bezel, which no one has been able to replicate, as its very costly! But does all of that justify the $1000 price tag?
So why does everyone copies them?
Apple has been great at innovations in the past, and they haven’t stopped, AirPods, the most underrated Apple product of last year is the most innovated product too, so following that people pour their money into Apple, making it a Trillion dollar company! But now there is a trust and expectations hence customers, but iPhone X also turned out to be a failure, being discontinued and having one of the most bugs in the OS, iOS 11 was most frequently updated! Seeing this an opportunity, other OEMs made phones which resembles iPhones for 2 reasons, the first one is for the people who are migrating from iPhone ecosystem to their’s, wouldn’t have the feeling of doing a learning curve and the second one is for the people who can’t afford iPhone.
Although it is not cheap to replicate it all, as the complete bezel is way cheaper than a notch but money makes monkeys dance!
