Visuals have never been as important as they are today, compelling images and videos are top priority when there’s a message you’re trying to convey or acquire attention from people. However, creating high-quality visuals can be time-consuming and costly. Luckily there’s an AI for that, yep an AI you can use to generate whatever kind of image you can imagine.

Yes, It’s called OpenArt AI

OpenArt AI is an image generation tool powered by artificial intelligence. Specifically, it uses the Stable Diffusion AI model to create, manipulate, and edit both synthetic/AI-generated images as well as real world photographs. While based on Stable Diffusion, OpenArt AI is different from that core AI engine and other generative AI tools in various ways. It has unique features and capabilities tailored for generating and working with images.

OpenArt is a platform dedicated to AI art enthusiasts. It’s a startup based in San Francisco founded by ex-Googlers. The generative platform for AI artists and enthusiasts. The platform is constantly evolving with rapid development.

Can I get started using this AI as a beginner?

Anyone can use OpenArt even toddlers because generating an image is as simple as a,b,c well to a certain extent. OpenArt AI uses a description called “prompt engineering” in order to generate images. Prompt engineering refers to the process of crafting instructions in a way that can be properly interpreted and understood by generative AI models. A prompt is essentially the text-based description or command that tells the AI what task it should carry out. Proper prompt engineering is crucial for ensuring the AI generates the desired output, whether that’s an image, text, code, or something else.

Let’s say we want to generate an image of a yellow treasure chest:

Here’s the prompt:

“a yellow chest that is on a black background with a black background, 3 d model:

And here’s the image that was generated:

Or maybe am aesthetic laptop on a table setup

Here’s the prompt:

“an aesthetic laptop and table setup”

And here’s the image:

Press enter or click to view image in full size

There’s also an option to add a negative prompt, which let’s you type in whatever you don’t want to see on the image you want generated. for example when generating a human figure you wouldn’t want to see deformed, ugly, mutilated, disfigured, extra limbs, face cut, head cut, extra fingers, extra arms, poorly drawn face, mutation, bad proportions, cropped head, malformed limbs, mutated hands, fused fingers, long neck right? Okay let’s generate this human and see what we get:

Press enter or click to view image in full size

Ugh! right. See what we’re talking about?

Yep it’s really that easy, but if you’re struggling to get the gist of prompts, OpenArt offers a prompt book (pdf) that will guide you step by step on how to use prompts to generate images. Here’s a quick peep of the book.

With OpenArt AI you can:

- Create an image from scratch

- Edit your image after generation

- Enhance and turn low quality images into 4k images

- Have your own AI model and train it

- Turn your images into cartoons

- You can even turn an image into a prompt (opposite of what we did previously)

It’s a place where imagination shines it’s light upon those who use it, once you start using it you won’t be able to stay away from it.

Sometimes OpenArt AI will get your image right and sometimes not, here are some examples:

Prompt: “A women relaxing on the couch and binge watching tv”

Press enter or click to view image in full size
How are the feet on the table and on the floor at the same time?

Prompt: “A fit white man at the gym holding two dumbbells, one on each hand, black and white”

Press enter or click to view image in full size
Look at the hand and those dumbbells, God forbid

Prompt: “A businessman smoking a cuban cigar”

Press enter or click to view image in full size
Where’s the f’ing cuban cigar? And the finger is a cigarette? What the hell?

Prompt: “Two men arm wrestling using one hand”

Press enter or click to view image in full size
Perfect faces and interpretation, but are those hands mutated?

AI is not perfect at all but it still needs some improvement. Trust us it gets better and funnier once you keep using it everyday.

How can an individuals and businesses leverage this AI in the modern world?

People can use OpenArt AI to explore their creativity and create unique visual art and designs in a whole new way, bypassing the need for traditional artistic skills. Businesses can leverage it for appealing content creation by generating product visuals, marketing materials, concept art and more in a cost-effective manner.

No need to hire Bob the painter (who’ll probably charge you a fortune) to paint you a nice store banner, just go to OpenArt AI ,describe what you want and “boom” you got it.

AI image generation is also valuable for tasks like data augmentation to train other AI models. Overall, tools like OpenArt provide an accessible way to produce powerful AI-generated visuals on-demand to meet a variety of personal and professional needs.

Does this generative AI knock off human artists and designers entirely?

I know what you’re thinking, bad news for artists right? Well not entirely, see when it comes to artists this AI can be like a personal assistant since most artists like working alone. This AI is powerful but it still needs ideas to make it work meaning without your “prompt idea” it’s literally useless. The human elements of art which are creative ideas, emotional expression, storytelling, conceptualization are still invaluable.

An artist who thinks out of the box will gladly use this AI to enhance the creative process of making their art and make sure they are ahead of the curb by learning how this AI functions as soon as possible. so they still retain their value in the market place.

A close minded artist on the other hand might boycott this AI and tweet, blog or express how it ruined their life and career instead of growing into the future, they’d rather run away from it. AI isn’t going anywhere, it’s here to stay so why not use it to your advantage.

Can AI-generated images be used for commercial purposes like marketing and advertising?

Yes, AI-generated images can definitely be used for commercial purposes like marketing and advertising. Many companies are already leveraging generative AI tools to rapidly create visuals for digital ads, product mockups, promotional materials and more.

However, artwork created by AI cannot be copyrighted. This means no one can claim ownership over it.

Creative Commons licenses only work for things that can be copyrighted in the first place.

If something is not eligible for copyright, like AI-generated art, then Creative Commons does not apply. Instead, the work automatically becomes part of the public domain.

Creative Commons is meant for copyrightable human creations. But since AI art has no human author, it lacks copyright protection and goes straight into the public domain for anyone to use freely.

Is it free to use?

OpenArt AI uses credits to generate images, meaning 1 credit = 1 image generated.

You can use AI without signing in and get 50 credits, they also have a discord where when you join you get an additional 100 credits for free.

Are there any ethical considerations around AI image generation I should keep in mind?

There are several ethical issues to consider with AI-generated content:

  1. Bias and unfairness: AI models can reflect biases from the data used to train them, promoting stereotypes or discrimination related to race, gender, etc. Training data needs to be diverse and unbiased.
  2. Lack of transparency: It may not be clear if content was AI-generated or by a human. Proper disclosure is needed to avoid misleading people.
  3. Privacy risks: Large data sets are used to train AI, raising privacy concerns if personal information is included without consent.
  4. Potential for misuse: Bad actors could use AI to create misinformation, fake content, or for social manipulation since AI can mimic human outputs.

AI isn’t all that perfect, it still has some minor problems that need tweaking but as you can see it still has some great potential and can serve as a great asset to those who endorse it. We still have a long way to go when it comes to anything AI. Laws and regulations that need to in place in order to protect individuals, businesses and AI corporations.

Ladies and gentlemen in conclusion:

OpenArt AI has the potential to enhance your creativity and imagination, learn how to use it know so that when everybody catches up you’re already several steps ahead. The future is now and we have to embrace and the most of it. We have certainly started using this AI ourselves and it’s doing wonders for our online marketing so we hope you’ll do the same.
