The vast majority of developers don’t know how a programming language works
That’s my point.
William W Wold

Really!? I don’t know any developers for whom that is true, and I know many. This seems to be like a backbone of knowledge for each and every developer. I’m not saying every developer is able to create a language, that is indeed a completely different beast, but understanding how a program get’s processed in order to make it executable … I don’t know, if someone claims to be a developer but is unable to explain to me how their code is processed to be executable… sory, that’s just not a programmer to me.
It’s actually one of the fundamental lessons I use in my “Programming 101” lectures; the anatomy of how we instruct a computer to do something.
