Preparation of Rosewater
Rosewater is prepared through the steam distillation of rose petals. Sometimes it is prepared through the extraction of its oil but that’s difficult. The most important thing is the purity of rosewater, so, before buying rosewater, check the purity and be sure to buy 100% pure rose water or prepare it at your home.
Preparation of rose water at home-
1. Collect fresh rose petals in a vessel.
2. Wash the rose petals with clean water to remove the impurities
3. Put hot water or warm water in the vessel.
Note- Distilled water is best suitable for preparing rose water but if not possible, use at least filtered water for preparation.
4. Cover the vessel and let the water cool. It may take 5- 15 minutes for cooling.
5. Use a strainer to get rose water in a new vessel. Strainer stops the petals to go through and purifies the rose water.
6. Store the Rosewater in a bottle, store it in the refrigerator and use it as per your requirement.
The shelf life of rose water prepared with this method is around 2 weeks.
