Telerik Offers $16,000 in Prizes in its First European Hackathon
Telerik announced that it will be offering $16,000 in prizes at its first European hackathon, scheduled for October 17–19, 2014 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Developers and tech enthusiasts from across the continent will have 48 hours to build the next revolutionary mobile app using Telerik Platform, the company’s end-to-end platform, combining industry-leading UI tools with cloud services.
Access to the Telerik Hackathon is highly competitive as seats will be limited to the first 200 registrations. All developers interested in joining the event must be quick to register at www.telerik.com/hackathon. Participants developing outstanding mobile apps that are beautiful, innovative and easy to use can compete to win $10,000 for first place — among the single largest hackathon prizes ever offered in the CEE region — as well as second and third place prizes of $5,000 and $1,000 respectively. Each participant will also get a free one-year license for the award-winning Telerik Platform, recently named “European ICT innovation of the Year” by the European ICT Awards.
The Telerik Hackathon will feature a panel of esteemed judges looking for best-in-class user experience, originality and utility. Winners will be announced at the end of the two-day competition on October 19 in Sofia. “As a company by developers for developers, we have been supporting our 1.4 million tech community around the globe for over a decade. Europe, where our company was born, has always been dear to our heart and home to many of the mobile innovations disrupting the world. This is why we want to bring the European developer community together for 48 hours to hack and put their best skills to the test. We look forward to seeing many of our developer friends in Sofia in October, and can’t wait to see the amazing mobile apps they’ll develop with Telerik Platform,” said Faris Sweis, Chief Technical Officer, Telerik.
Registration is now open and will close at 5 pm Eastern European Time (UTC +2) on October 15, 2014. The Telerik Hackathon is open to all participants 18 years of age or older, either as individuals or as part of a team of up to five people. The hackathon will take place at Telerik Academy in the Telerik HQ campus in Mladost 1A in Sofia, Bulgaria.
