Blood tests should include hematology, biochemistry, rheumatoid factor (RF), anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) antibodies, and inflammatory markers. Patients with active RA frequently test positive for RF and anti-CCP antibodies, which are highly specific for the disease. Elevated inflammatory markers such as ESR and CRP are typical in active RA.
