Ukraine Has Proven Women Can Handle Combat. So What Is Israel Waiting For?

For the women of the IDF, this little PR stunt is getting old.

Inspiring right?

That photo was taken directly off of the IDF English-speaking Twitter page.

It’s a great example of how the IDF rhetorically supports women in combat positions without actually doing the hard work of putting women in combat.

The classic military bait and switch.

What’s worse, these little propaganda posters actually work on young women both in Israel and throughout the diaspora.

Each year hundreds of women fly from around the world, usually fresh out of high school, to join the IDF in the belief that their service as female combat soldiers will not only be meaningful to the Jewish state; but also an empowering and cathartic experience that will result in producing more determined and confident women throughout their entire lives.

… and then they join.

“Reality hurts harder than a kick to the nuts” — me, just now.
