I’m on a mission to get everyone — yes, you too — cooking
Home-cooked food isn’t just better for you than fast food or takeout. For those who are passionate about food, it's really about so much more than that.
For me, for example, cooking is love, care, devotion — and that holds true even if you’re the only one eating! It’s also incredibly rewarding once you’ve gotten good enough at it.
This is where I (and my Medium stories) come in:
I started writing on Medium to bring you my absolute best recipes and cooking guides so you can make meals tastier than those at your favorite restaurant, all in the confines of your kitchen.
I’m talking easy, affordable, downright delicious recipes that coax so much flavor out of a handful of ingredients, with so little fuss and washing up, it’s practically ridiculous. (Regular readers know what I'm going on about.)
Why follow me?
Cookbooks (I have one too!), YouTube cooking channels, and food-themed email newsletters can be found left and right.
But here’s the shtick: TV chefs and cookbook authors get you to blindly follow along and leave you hoping that your meal's going to turn out okay without teaching you any of the fundaments behind their recipes!
I like to think that my stuff's different.
Not only do I give you ideas about WHAT to cook, but I help you figure out HOW to cook it well — really well — whether with or without a recipe.
Think of my stories as the fragments of a cookbook and a reference guide in one. The kind that gets you to say “HA! I didn’t know that!” all the time and keeps you kind of glued to the screen. (Just don’t say I didn’t warn you.)
The best part?
It costs exactly $0 to follow me on Medium and subscribe to get my stories on email if you have an active membership.
A little bit about me
I’d tell you that I’m a self-taught cook, but that would be a lie. My two great grandmothers, bless their souls, showed me how to make my way around the kitchen before I was even tall enough to see the eggs in my pan.
For a long time, cooking remained a hobby. Then the pandemic hit and made me question so many things about life, I quit my comfy Fortune 500 managerial job — ending a years-long successful career run in IT — moved to Spain, and focused on my two lifelong passions: cooking and writing.
I still have to do this or that to pay the bills, but I'm happy to report that cooking is finally one of the things I do to get by!
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope to see you around.
