Thanks for the great insights. I love women of all shapes and sizes (and colours), but it seems to me that fat is more accepted (by all) amongst black women than white women. That it is in fact somehow more acceptable to be black and fat then white and fat? I suspect this may have to do with the many big black icons that you mentioned — and the fact that white culture has done even more to erase big women — or de-sexualise them completely.

What are your thoughts on this?
