I’ve decided to write about my developer profile I have so far to summarize all the information about it in one short resume.
As I’ve completed my main studies on OpenClassrooms and obtained a diploma for Front-End Developer, I’ve started working on organizing all of the projects that have been made during the program. And, as I have also took a few other courses, I’ve added their projects to my list as well (including some of the personal projects).
For that I’ve checked a few examples and guides and followed them to build a profile site where I can store the main details and links. I used GitHub to deploy it as it’s a relatively small site with a few pages. After some adjustments and changes it ended up being this (in case the repo is needed, it’s here).
Shortly after, upon seeing another example of the resume-site, I thought I can replicate it with some tweaks. While it serves the same purpose, I wanted it to look more like a resume, so I’ve added it as a page to the main profile. Another reason is that I was editing my CV at that moment and decided to use it as a basis for this separate page with more detailed information.
Next I’ve polished my GitHub profile, so its overview could look more structured and detailed. I’ve read through a few guides and used the parts I liked from them. Additionally, I’ve rearranged my repositories and edited their readme files, descriptions, stars, links and tags to make them ordered and to have some introductory information for each project.
Some time ago I’ve also decided to become a bit more active on social media and chose Twitter, Medium and LinkedIn for that.
I’m not planning on growing too much of an audience and becoming an influencer or so. I’m interested in connecting with various developers, see what they work on and what advice they give. I try to write something useful as well and hope that it may help someone too. I set myself a goal to write at least one tweet and one comment per day, to like and retweet posts that may come in handy and write a story on Medium every Friday. So far, I’ve been keeping up with this plan.
Currently I want to additionally focus on getting more connections on LinkedIn, as well as posting there.
So far these are the main channels that I’ve chosen for myself. While there are others, I’ve decided to pay more attention to these ones and concentrate on getting additional skills for my main area which is Front-End development. In particular, I plan on having some in-depth JavaScript and React learning.
And that is how I’ve organized my various profiles at the moment. This story will mostly serve as a summary I may use from time to time but perhaps somebody else could find something of interest in it.
As always, thank you for reading.
