Spontaneity… Last minute trip to Hong Kong.. Why not?

So in the past while I was working in the corporate world I have to say my spontaneity levels were quite low.. I would travel maybe once a year for a week or two and that was it. Since replacing my income with an online business I have changed that dramatically.

So I got a message from a friend of mine that lives in Nashville Tennesee at around 3am Melbourne time asking me if I want to go and see him in Hong Kong as he is managing an event there… In the past I would have said no straight away due to work commitments and a very boring mindset… But in that hazy sleepy moment I said yes straight away and booked my flight as soon as i woke up the next morning…

So here I am in Hong Kong… Or Honkers as aussie slang would call it…

He is working during the day so I am hanging out by myself during the day which is daunting for most people due to the hustle and bustle of this amazing city Hong Kong.. So I decided I am not going to hang out at the hotel all day waiting for him to get back so we can hang out.. I put on my big girl shoes and hit the Kowloon area…

To be honest I freaked out a little when I first arrived at the Ladies Market here in Kowloon because of the sheer amount of people that are walking the streets… There is literally no breathing space between you and the next person.. Walking through the famous ladies market I was enthusiastically greeted by stall owners trying to lure me in to their stall to purchase a fake Rolex or Jimmy Choo handbag.. For fake crappy looking junk these guys are selling, the prices are ridiculous… I checked out a Chanel handbag that was quite cute but still fake looking and they originally told me it would cost me the equivalent of $300 Australian Dollars…. WHATTTTT!!!!! And without me asking for a discount he dropped the price to $180… My instant reaction was to say no politely and move on but this guy would not let me go… He kept trying to show me more and more… I finally got out… That was fun…

Once I got sick of seeing the same stuff over and over again I decided to walk the streets and check out the lifestyle… WOW… Talk about over population… Walking down the street you are surrounded with hundreds of people.. But its all part of the experience and its really cool to see how other people live…

So the moral of this story is that being spontaneous is what keeps life exciting.. Say yes more then saying no to great opportunities… You never know when your time is up so live life like you’re going to die one day… Coz guess what… You are going to die one day… So live.. Don’t merely exist.. That’s no fun…
