UNH Hospitality Services is proud to announce that we have joined the movement of going strawless in order to help reduce plastic in our oceans. Plastic straws are one of the top plastic products found during beach cleanups and in oceans across the globe.

We are committed to doing our part to help the environment and preserve marine life. This is why we will be phasing out straws at our campus cafés and replacing them with new, innovative sip-through lids as an alternative to straws. These new lids are 100% recyclable. The UNH Dairy Bar will be offering the sip-through lids for fountain beverages along with compostable straws for any frozen drinks served. And of course, compostable straws will be available upon request for those with disabilities.

This unique new design allows our customers to enjoy their cold beverages while also reducing their carbon footprint. Keep an eye out for the new lids that will be showing up at our locations over the next two weeks!
