Traveling to Barcelona for PMI LIM EMEA 2016

I am just about to leave on a trip again. My destination for a couple of days will be one of my favorite cities. Barcelona.

I love my favorite cities.

It’s a lucky strike that PMI Leadership Institute Meeting (LIM) EMEA takes place in one of them this year. Did I mention that Barcelona is one of my favorite cities?

The weather, the sea, the food, the people, the architecture, the parks. Yes, I would enjoy living there.

Early Bird Catches the Worm

The 3-day event starts tomorrow morning, with breakfast meeting with my colleagues from PMI CMAG (Chapter Member Advisory Group) — a fabulous group of experienced PMI global volunteer leaders.

Not the whole group will be attending, as we will be missing those who attended the Latin America LIM in Lima, Peru earlier in the year.

We work together on a number of projects that have been carefully picked and designed to help PMI chapters deliver even more value to their members, all aligned with the broader envisioned goal of PMI — that worldwide, organizations will embrace, value, and utilize project management and attribute their success to it. Yes, I just copy-pasted the PMI’s envisioned goal verbatim, I am THAT nerdy.

Before Noon

If you are interested in learning more about those projects, I would suggest that you join us at the Region meetings of Region 8 or Region 12 just before lunch, because we will be talking about them there. Or, if there will be enough interest, I might write some more about those projects here too. What do you think, would that be of interest to you?

During lunch, as a seasoned LIM-attendee (this will be my 18th LIM) I will be at a special session for first-time LIM attendees, trying to help the amazing PMI staff in helping the first-timers get the most out of this meeting.

The Beginning and Beyond

LIM officially starts after lunch with a keynote session by Rene Carayol about collaboration being the new leadership. I am very interested in his views, especially what tips he is going to share and how PMI chapter leaders will be able to use them in running their chapters.

The whole LIM agenda is packed with many exciting sessions, as usual, and it’s not easy to pick which sessions to attend. I still haven’t decided yet, except for those that I participate in — did I mention my session on Saturday at 15:00 in Forum Room H1, Level -1?

I should probably write about my session some more, but I have a plane to catch, and one of my favorite cities to visit. The weather, the sea, the food, the people, the architecture, the parks.

Yes, I would enjoy living in Barcelona.
