Dion Abadi - Important Things to Keep in Mind when You Buy at an Auction

Dion Abadi is an auctioneer at one of the leading auction houses in Atlanta city. He started working as an apprentice auctioneer after graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University. After having participated in several auctions, Dion Abadi knows that there are some important things to keep in mind when you buy something at an auction. Here are a couple of tips you can use the next time you go to buy something at an auction.

Profit or Commission
There are different types of auctions, some are held in warehouses, hotel ballrooms, farms, homes, stores, etc. Not every auctioneer has his own auction house, and some may not even have their own warehouse. When you go to an auction, you could be bidding on an item that could actually be owned by the auctioneer who is selling it for profit instead of a commission. However, there is no way you are going to know this as an auction house has several ways of acquiring its merchandise.

Source of the Item
The second thing you need to be aware of is where the item comes from. For some items, it could be clearly seen that they have been brought in just for the auction, whereas for other items you can clearly see the items auctioned are the contents of a house. However, this is not a general rule of thumb, because if you are at an auction of fine painting, the items on sale could be from a previous art collector.

Dion Abadi recommends researching about the items before you buy them in an auction.
