The Bawumia family played an instrumental role prior to the NPP winning of the 2016 general elections.Political scientist debates that,it was through their efforts the NPP won massively.

While her husband Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the then vice presidential candidate, now the vice president campaigned alongside Nana Akufo-Addo, his wife Samira Bawumia will undoubtedly was counted one of the stars (if not the main star) of their campaign.In fact, I saw her more times on main campaign platforms than I saw the first lady,anyway, that’s just by the way.

From a political background,she is the only daughter born to a politician, Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan, the National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Hajia Ayesha Ramadan.

No wonder Samira has risen to become a leading member of the New Patriotic Party.Her brother,Abu Ramadan is also a staunch member of the People’s National Convention.

Samira is a linguist with five languages; Ewe, Ga, Twi, Fanti and her husband’s native tongue, Mamprusi, rolling off her tongue effortlessly.
 She started her early education at the Answarudeen Islamic School at Fadama in Accra, before proceeding to the Akosombo International School and then Mfantsiman Secondary School in the Central Region for her O-Level.
