Hi!

Recently, while working as a UX designer at WeHelp, I came across the research part.

I was asked that won’t it be helpful to carry a research before iterating on our existing design. And I started to learn more about UX Research.

While carrying out the competitive analysis and making the competitive audit report, I started to understand why research is important.

I paused my design work, which now I call it UI design and started learning about the UX.

UX and UI are so easily mixed up and once you dive into this, you can actually understand the versatility of both. UX needs UI and UI needs UX.

I come from a textile design background and recently restarted my career journey onto a new path of UX/UI. Restarting.

UX designers do not just beautify product but they also analyse the end-to-end journey of the users interacting with the product. They find opportunities, and develop concepts to achieve the company’s goals. Involving UX designers at an early stage of design thinking process can help save time and achieve efficiency. They help to get a clear vision of a product or a service.

Design Thinking

A UX researcher does both qualitative and quantitative research methods in order to provide a deeper understanding of the user. They are responsible for the first step of the design thinking process -Empathise, which helps the designers to create their designs.

They ‘empathise’ with the user and properly identify the problem that should be catered to. This this the second phase — Define.

They are also needed at the fifth stage — Test, to evaluate the results of usability /product testing, helping the team to iterate and redefine.

We should have UX researcher as :

They can help create effective business strategies, save time, help build a stronger and friendly team and above all they are transparent and generally unbiased.

The ultimate purpose of UX design is to create easy, efficient, relevant, and all-round pleasant experiences for the user.

With user habits and satisfaction is the main focus, they help build user’s trust get good feedback from the users.
