The new ones MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 inches are the dream of many users. They release a new design, although there is a clear inspiration in previous Apple models. Specifically, the PowerBook G4 Titanium, which was initially released in 2001, bears a more than reasonable resemblance.

TWENTY YEARS THAT SEPARATE THE MACBOOK PRO AND POWERBOOK G4 TITANIUM

Made of titanium, the PowerBook G4 It was produced between 2001 and 2003, and was later replaced by three aluminum models that year. It featured a 15-inch screen, a translucent black keyboard, and a fresh, modern look around it.
A next-generation 12-inch aluminum PowerBook G4.

Twenty years later, Apple has launched a new MacBook Pro that emulates the titanium PowerBook G4. This image of the Twitter user Arun Venkatesan looks at some key aspects:

The way the edge ends, flat on top and rounded down. A cap line that is similar, albeit without the audio jack. And a body that is not yet unibody, the technique that would be released years later to make the chassis in one piece.

Once opened, the black keyboard stands out, with two speakers on both sides. Centered trackpad and a narrow-edged display (metal on the G4). Although the similarities are obvious and there, they are teams separated by two decades of technological development.

Two transitions later, we have the processors M1 Pro y M1 Max, skipping the Intel versions. Pantalla Liquid Retina XDR with ProMotion, a battery life of up to 21 hours and a serial macOS Monterey that has also evolved enormously are the main differences. That they are not few, precisely.
