As Simplicus mentions, I think you are exploring an interesting idea… but I think that it will become worthwhile to tease out the difference between ‘contingent’ and ‘conditional’.

So (perhaps) there is a contingent moral that ‘murder is wrong’… but there is also a conditional moral that adds the clause (for many but not all) ‘…unless in self defence’. Or even in some cultures ‘unless pursuing vendetta’.

I’m not sure how you reconcile ‘contingent’ moral values with actual behaviours.
