Tour Du Rwanda Highlights and Stages
This year’s Tour Du Rwanda is scheduled from the 18th to the 25th of February and will have 6 stages. Stage 1 will be in the heart of Kigali Rwanda’s capital city. It will cover 18 kilometers starting from the BK Arena and ending the the Kigali Convention Center. On this route, cyclists will cover all the Kigali City highlights as they are cheered on by the supportive Rwandan revealers. Stage 2 will take the southern route from Muhanga to Kibeho covering 130 kilometers. This route has cultural and historical attractions including the Butare Museum the only Ethnography museum in the region.
Stage 3 of Tour Du Rwanda is among the most impressive of all. Cyclists will take on a journey from Huye to Rusizi through Nyungwe Forest for a distance of 141 kilometers. Nyungwe Forest is among the region’s oldest forests and is home to chimpanzees and 12 other primate species. Stage 4 stretches along Lake Kivu from Karongi to Rubavu for 92 Kilometers. Tour Du Rwanda’s stage five is another epic Discovery Journey. This stage will start from Musanze to Kinigi the foothills of the Five Volcanoes in Rwanda. It will cover a distance of 13 kilometers of a remarkable journey to the land of the mountain gorillas.
Stage 6 will be from Musanze to Mont Kigali covering 93 kilometers. Stage 7 will cover 163 kilometers from Rukomo to Kayonza and the final stage will be in Kigali once again starting and ending at the Kigali Convention Center covering 90 kilometers.
