Resolution

Sometimes others are more proficient then I am, this is an example of such a time.

“2016 will be the year during which I come to terms with the fact that I do not need to explain myself further to those who do not use their reading or listening comprehension skills.

I am an educated, empowered woman. My time is valuable. I am not obliged to continue engaging in conversation with you. I am not responsible for educating you. If you are able to talk to me or read what I write, you likely have access to Google. Use it.

2016 will also be the year during which I refuse to justify my emotions to anyone. Yes, thinking about our society’s oppressive systems agitates me. As it should anyone else who believes in justice and in acknowledging the dignity in all people. If my passion and indignation make you feel uncomfortable, and you are uncomfortable with your feeling uncomfortable, you oughta go find ya momma because you’re not ready to talk to me. You’re not ready to hear anything I have to say.

Go on. Go find ya momma.”
