Different Types of BRAHMI
Bacopa monnieri, a.k.a. Brahmi or The Herb of Grace is a perennial herb known for its numerous benefits to the human mind and body.
Brahmi has been named after Lord Brahma, the creator of the world. Brahmi is a 360 degree herb, which means that it aids the whole human body, including the the mind, brain, nervous system, digestive system, and respiratory system.
Its numerous benefits to a human being have been listed in various scientific studies as well as in Ayurvedic treatments.
It is important to consume the Herb of Grace in the most potent form so as to obtain the maximum benefits from it.
There are a few ways Brahmi can be used by a person, such as Fresh Juice, Brewed Tea, Powder/ Churna, Cold Infusion, Paste, Oil, Capsule, and Tablet.
Each method of application or consumption is aided to the convenience of the person applying it.
For example if a person does not have time to steep the tea, they can consume the tablet form on Brahmi to extract goodness from it into their body.
The following are preparation and consumption/application techniques of the herb Brahmi.
Brahmi Fresh Lime Juice
Preparation: Take 2–4 teaspoons of Brahmi fresh juice. Add equal quantity of water to it and mix well.
Consumption: Drink mixture once a day before food. It is preferred to consume Brahmi juice on an empty stomach as it aids in absorption.
Brahmi Tea
Preparation: Boil 1 glass of water and add 2–4 leaves of the Brahmi plant. Boil for 1–2 minutes and turn off the heat. Cover the pot and let it brew for 10–12 minutes.
Consumption: Drink Brahmi tea. Do not consume water 30 mins before and after the tea.
Brahmi Powder/Churna
Preparation: Take 1/4th -1/2 teaspoon of brahmi churna. Mix it with 1- 2 teaspoon of honey.
Consumption: Swallow mixture twice a day. Both times before or after lunch and dinner.
Brahmi Cold Infusion
Preparation: Take 3–4 teaspoons of Brahmi cold infusion. Add 1/4th-1/2 glass or water. Honey can be used instead of water in the quantity of 1–2 teaspoons.
Consumption: Consume Brahmi liquid twice a day, before lunch and dinner.
Brahmi Paste
Preparation: Take ½–1 teaspoon of Brahmi fresh paste. Mix it with rose water to make the consistency of a thin face-pack.
Application: Apply the Brahmi & Rose water mixture on the face and let it sit for 4–6 minutes. Wash thoroughly with plain water. This remedy can be used 1–3 times a day.
Brahmi Capsule
Preparation: Take 1–2 Brahmi capsules. Take 1/4th- 1/2 glass of milk.
Consumption: Swallow Brahmi Capsule twice a day with milk. Consume it before or after lunch and dinner.
Brahmi oil
Preparation: Take 1/2 -4 teaspoon of Brahmi oil. More oil can be applied as per requirement.
Application: Massage the Brahmi oil gently on the scalp and hair. The massage should be soothing so as to stimulate the hair follicles. Repeat this application 1–3 times a week.
Brahmi Tablet
Preparation: Take 1–2 Brahmi capsules. Take 1/4th- 3/4th glass of milk.
Consumption: Swallow Brahmi Capsule twice a day with milk. Consume it before or after lunch and dinner.
