Earl Shoaff

Many of us know Tony Robbins; some of us may know Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins’ mentor; but rarely we have heard of Earl Shoaff, Jim Rohn’s mentor. He was called “The millionaire maker”. You can hear more about him and his voice in the following Youtube video. In this article, we describe his goal-setting method.

Generally, Earl Shoaff’s method stems in coordinating conscious and unconscious mind to achieve a goal. He doesn’t speak about the amount of work to put in or how of achieving the goal. He leaves these details to the “intelligence” of the audience.

He resembles a goal to a seed that can be planted deep in mind. A seed(or a goal) should be written with complete detail on a piece of paper and we shouldn’t reread or alter it until a while. Here is the detailed description of the process:

  1. Get a piece of paper and start defining on a piece of paper.
  2. Describe everything about your goal. If it is a Bentley, describe it down to the ring type, to the model year. Describe everything about it. This is how we define things that we want in this world. Now that we have created the seed, we should release it and plant it.
  3. The perfect thing in the world to plant that seed is to take this piece of paper now and write the concept, “Thank you”. That’s the law of acceptance. “Thank you” means you have accepted it.
  4. Now take this paper, fold it up and leave it in a safe place. Don’t carry it around and don’t take it out and look at it anymore. The reason for it is like planting a seed in the earth. If you go and dig that seed up two or three times a day to look at it, nothing’s going to happen. Have faith in the law of growth.

The reason for it is like planting a seed in the earth, folks. If you go and dig that seed up two or three times a day to look at it, nothing’s going to happen. If you’ve never seen a lack of faith–it’s the farmer who had the gullibility to dig up the seed to see if it was growing yet. Now that is little faith. He really believes in the laws of growth, and that’s the same way with us human beings.

Don’t just have one seed planted, plant many seeds–any great desire you have in your life–a tangible object or intangible object.

Expect wonderful things. Be a creator of ideas. Let’s not be moons, the reflector of ideas. Let’s be suns, let’s be the creator of the light; let’s be the creator of the ideas because we all have the capacity.
