Blog Post Week 5
This week I was able to properly start on the creation of the assets in 3D space. To get a taster, I started just modelling the toilet seat, it was obvious that I hadn’t modeled in a while. The toilet seat looked a bit bulky and jagged in areas, after I fixed that issue I realized that the concept has cracks, with a groan I began to swift loop the toilet seat for the cracked, then I realized, it was actually easier than it looked, the toilet seat quickly looked much more scary and more to my design.
Then I had a class, not finding another opportunity to 3D model, I showed them what I had done before when they came up with an idea, “do the easier assets first so that we can UV unwrap and colour while you work on the harder assets” genius, so I began work on the tiles.
Not as easy as I thought, I finished half of the tiles in, say five hours. I initially thought it would be a two hour job at most, but the cracks, smashes, and linking of the slabs meant a lot more extra work.
