As a therapist, you SHOULD know that you don’t get to define what someone else’s experience is/was. Nor do you have the authority to tell someone when they can “pull the race card” (what is that?) or not.
Since you brought that up, what are the “rules” around when someone can “pull the race card”? And who enforces it?
Telling an underrepresented minority what they experienced and when they are “allowed” to call it racism/sexism/etc just feeds into the unequal power structure run by the dominant group.
And microaggression (based on race, gender, religion, etc) is real.
