Ms Davis:

It seems you would like to pretend that skin color doesn’t affect life experiences….but it simply isn’t true. Walking around in black (or white) skin impacts the way the world views and interacts with you, from the stranger on the street to one’s own family and intimate partners. Go talk to a black man about how he feels about black women (whether strangers, friends, or in their own family). Then ask a white man the same question. Mix it up and ask them about white, Latino, or Asian women. The differences in their responses will prove my point.
